Day Four of the PETZL Rock & Road EC 2009 kicked off with a few hangovers, loads of espresso filter coffee and a variety of breakfast cereals eaten out of bowls that smelled distinctly like last nights dinner. Yum.

To Grahamstown and Beyond

With a solid day of sending at Fort Fordyce under belt, the climbers on the PETZL Rock & Road Trip took advantage of a much needed rest day to regenerate some skin in anticipation of Monday’s Boulder Blast in Alicedale. However, the rest day wasn’t the usual ‘climbers lazing about on green lawns sipping quarts of beer’, but rather a mentoring initiative in conjunction with the Rhodes University Mountain Club (RUMC).

The PETZL Rock and Road EC 2009 has started. All met in EL and piled onto the bus to travel to Fort Fordyse. Adam has been here for 2 days already and opened 3 X 33's and one long 29.

The day started early. Everybody was very apprehensive as the setting and rock was very different to what any of them had seen and experienced before. Will the Eastern Cape Dolerite get the better of them? They got on the warm ups without delay.
