It all came down to the last week. There was extreme competition in KZN and GP with climbers desperate for a place. The lures of France and the UK however stole a lot of WC's best. This is who will be competing this year.

Adam Ondra Slide Show in JHB

Hi all

Adam Ondra is arriving in SA at OR Thambo airport on the Wed 15 July at 10:50. We plan to have lots of school kids there to welcome him with banners. Then he will be doing a slide show that night at the MCSA JHB section clubhouse starting at 20:00. The clubhouse is in the Waverly Girl Guides Hall, corner Scott and Stirling St Waverly.  There is an entrance for of R30 for non MCSA members.

Only 18 Days to go

There is only 18 days left until the deadline of 30 June for selection to this year’s PETZL rock and Road Trip. Below is how 8a stands at the moment. Some big changes: We have included an extra climber from the EC and an extra woman from KZN to cover the strong female climbers in this region. Karen and Naureen have sent their apologies and will be away aboard in July and are not available for selection. This gives some WC ladies an opportunity. Gauteng men has been turned upside down with the outsider Harry Crews popping up from nowhere. Paul Bruyere is been knocked out, but he is at this very moment cranking hard in KZN. Will he get enough points to get back in? Not to mention Ben Harper who is currently on no 152 with only 2100 points, what has Ben got up his sleeve?
